EBT System Changes re: Unused Benefits

The amount of time CalFresh benefits are available on EBT cards if the card is not being used is changing. CalFresh Benefits will now be removed from the card after 9 months of not being used, which is a reduction from the previous timeframe of 12 months.

This means if clients do not have any debit activity on their EBT card within 9 months, those benefits will no longer be available and cannot be reinstated (but does not affect eligibility for future benefits). You can read more in the All County Letter here.
