The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) seeks to support clients, the public, and community organizations to claim and promote the availability of the Economic Impact Payment (EIP). In this All County Welfare Directors Letter, CDSS shares an Economic Impact Payment (EIP) claiming pathway, developed in partnership between CDSS and Code for America. The website is mobile-friendly and streamlines the EIP claiming process down to approximately 30 minutes.

Within this pathway, telephonic support is also available to individuals needing additional assistance and utilizes the same familiar network of resources for clients otherwise filing their income tax returns.

This letter also links to resources for governmental and community-based organizations to promote the EIP.

** Please note that the deadline to file for the EIP, without having to file a full income tax return, is October 15, 2020. **
